ABOUT THE POSITION YOUR FUTURE BEGINS HERE! Join one of the fastest-growing cities in Arizona and the youngest in Yuma County! Under general supervision of the City Engineer, this position is responsible for coordinating the implementation of City infrastructure and building projects from scope development through construction. The role also supports the coordination of larger capital improvement projects managed by Project Managers. This is accomplished by collaborating with City departments and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with defined scopes of work.
As the Engineering Project Coordinator, you will: Coordinate project activities between City staff, contractors, and consultants for public works and improvement projects. Collaborate with project management staff to select, contract, and administer consultants and contractors. Prepare and process contract documents, including council agenda items for contract awards, extensions, and authorizations. Monitor construction projects to ensure compliance with contract terms, construction standards, building codes, and project schedules. Participate in cross-functional project teams, facilitating progress through various project phases and presenting status updates to the City Engineer. Plan, schedule, and write work requests and inspection notices to support timely job completion and infrastructure maintenance. Assist in developing bid documents including IFBs, RFQs, RFPs, and formal bid specifications for construction and operational contracts. Support procurement processes by obtaining estimates, initiating purchase orders, and ensuring compliance with the State Procurement Code. Coordinate in-house construction and vendor activities to ensure adherence to plans, timelines, and applicable codes and standards. Conduct site inspections of city infrastructure and facilities, generating work orders for repairs or improvements. Assist in feasibility studies, utilizing cost manuals, software, and other tools to evaluate project scope, cost, and impact. Maintain organized project files and documentation, ensuring records are accurate and readily accessible. Prepare weekly status reports, identifies project needs or issues, and communicates effectively with leadership for support and resolution. Provide high-level support for all phases of project delivery, from planning and design through construction and closeout. Perform other related duties as assigned. Fundamental principles and practices of project management. City building and construction codes, permit requirements, and related documentation. Project management tools and Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, Teams, etc.) Construction management practices, including knowledge of City of San Luis construction standards. Procurement and contracting procedures and policies and best practices. Will be skilled in:

Associate's Degree in a relevant field. A minimum of two (2) years of experience coordinating or managing public works projects. Licenses and Certificates:

A valid Arizona driver's license at the time of appointment. Special Requirements:
Residency in the United States and within 25 miles of the City of San Luis. Desired/Preferred:
San Luis residency. Bilingual in Spanish.
