We are partnered with a fast-growing specialty chemicals supplier serving upstream oil & gas to hire a Business Development Manager focused on drilling fluids. This is a high-impact, hunter role for a seller who thrives on opening net-new operator accounts and moving quickly from sample to trial to production orders. Defined As a Business Development Manager, you'll own the full sales cycle for a drilling-fluids portfolio-prospecting midsize operators, initiating and coordinating sampling and field trials, and converting wins into repeat production business. You'll collaborate closely with leadership, purchasing, technical/lab, and production teams to deliver reliable outcomes for customers.

Open net-new accounts with targeted midsize operators Own sampling programs, coordinate field trials, track performance, and secure production orders Map target accounts and build multi-threaded relationships across operations, supply chain, and procurement Partner with internal leadership, lab/technical, purchasing, and production to deliver on customer requirements Maintain a disciplined pipeline and forecast; document activity in CRM Travel regularly for onsite meetings, field trials, and account development Skills and Competencies

Required:

15+ years in oil & gas chemicals, including 5+ years selling drilling-fluids chemicals to operators Bachelor's degree required; Chemistry a plus Proven hunter with a track record of landing new logos and scaling revenue in high-growth settings Working knowledge of drilling-fluids chemistries, trial design, KPIs, and success criteria Strong executive communication and cross-functional coordination Home-office discipline with willingness to travel as needed across assigned geography Desired:

Established relationships within midsize E&P operators in the Permian and other key basins Experience navigating sampling logistics, lab turnarounds, and rapid trial-to-production transitions Comfort operating with urgency in a nimble, outcomes-focused organization What's In It for You
