Compensation: $260,000 - $400,000 per year

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic

Chief Compliance Officer (CCO)

to lead our client's compliance and privacy functions within a healthcare organization. The CCO will be responsible for overseeing all compliance activities related to healthcare regulations, privacy laws, and organizational policies within the hospital or healthcare system. This role requires a strong background in healthcare compliance, privacy regulations (such as HIPAA), and risk management, coupled with the ability to manage and influence teams effectively.

The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare compliance and privacy, including demonstrated leadership and management experience within a hospital or healthcare system. The CCO will play a key role in ensuring our healthcare facility remains compliant with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations while promoting a culture of ethical practice and accountability.

Responsibilities: Compliance Leadership:

Develop and implement comprehensive compliance and privacy programs across the healthcare organization, ensuring all policies and procedures meet regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, etc.). Risk Management:

Oversee risk assessments, audits, and internal investigations to identify, evaluate, and mitigate compliance risks. Ensure timely reporting of any issues or violations to senior leadership and regulatory bodies as appropriate. Privacy Oversight:

Lead efforts to ensure compliance with privacy regulations, including data security and patient confidentiality standards. Ensure effective management of electronic health records (EHR) and personal health information (PHI). Education and Training:

Design and conduct ongoing compliance and privacy training programs for all staff, ensuring that employees at all levels understand and adhere to applicable laws and internal policies. Regulatory Liaison:

Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, responding to inquiries, audits, and investigations. Ensure timely submission of required documentation and reports to relevant authorities. Reporting and Documentation:

Regularly report to the CEO, executive leadership, and the board of directors on the status of compliance activities, key risk areas, and mitigation strategies. Collaboration:

Work closely with senior leadership, legal, risk management, and other departments to ensure a coordinated approach to compliance and privacy matters across the organization. Policy Development and Implementation:

Develop, review, and update internal compliance policies, ensuring they are in line with the latest legal and regulatory requirements. Continuous Improvement:

Stay up-to-date on changes to healthcare regulations and compliance standards, making necessary adjustments to internal processes and policies. Qualifications:

Education:

Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Law, Business Administration, or a related field Experience:

5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare compliance and privacy, with a strong focus on hospital/healthcare system settings. Management Experience:

Proven ability to lead and manage teams, including experience in developing and executing compliance programs and managing risk in a healthcare environment. Certifications:

Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), or similar certifications are highly preferred. Skills & Knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and compliance frameworks, including HIPAA, HITECH, Stark Law, and Anti-Kickback Statute. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with a variety of stakeholders, including senior leadership, regulatory agencies, and staff. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Ability to manage complex projects, prioritize tasks, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
