Overview
Position Summary: We are seeking a proactive and experienced HR Manager to lead and manage multiple aspects of the Human Resources function for our Supply Chain team. The HR Manager will be responsible for supporting the Vice President, Supply Chain and his team/workforce and will entail end to end workforce planning, employee relations, compliance, training, and retention initiatives that support the growth and performance of a skilled manufacturing team.

Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Staffing
- Work directly with internal recruiter to identify and hire both hourly and professional staff for all of Supply Chain.
- Partner with technical schools, staffing agencies, and local organizations to build a strong talent pipeline.
- Employee Relations
- Foster a positive and productive workplace culture.
- Address employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary actions professionally and in line with company policies.
- HR Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Maintain accurate and compliant personnel records.
- Work with Safety Manager to ensure compliance with OSHA, EEO, FMLA, ADA, and other regulations.
- Training & Development
- Coordinate onboarding and training for new hires.
- Implement development programs for operators and supervisors to build internal capabilities.
- Performance Management
- Oversee annual review processes and support supervisors in performance improvement plans.
- Coach and train supervisors.
- Monitor attendance trends and help supervisors manage absenteeism.
- Other
- Assist in managing payroll inputs, benefits administration, and employee inquiries.
- Review compensation structures to ensure market competitiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in wood working or machining.
- Strong understanding of employment law, OSHA regulations, and manufacturing safety practices.
- Experience with implementing and using a comprehensive HRIS system.
- Proven ability to manage conflict, drive employee engagement, and build trust with shop-floor personnel.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Cultural competence and respect for skilled trades and labor environments.
This position operates in both an office and shop-floor environment. The HR Manager should be comfortable engaging directly with production employees, maintenance staff, and supervisors in a fast-paced, loud, and safety-focused setting. The expectation is that the successful candidate will spend just as much time on the floor as in the office to support the team.
