POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Business Analyst analyzes business needs and drives business processes, systems, and solutions improvements. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business goals, identifying areas for improvement, defining project requirements, and guiding projects to successful completion. The Senior Business Analyst will be critical in facilitating communication between technical teams and business units, ensuring that projects align with business objectives and deliver value.
COMPENSATION
This position offers a competitive compensation package, benchmarked to regional market standards. It consists of a base salary plus the opportunity for quarterly profit sharing after one year of employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including executives, managers, and end-users, to understand business goals and requirements.
- Conduct thorough analyses of existing business processes, systems, and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
- Define and document business and functional requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and feasibility.
- Develop project charters, business cases, and cost-benefit analyses to support project proposals and prioritization.
- Facilitate and lead requirements-gathering workshops, process mapping sessions, and project meetings.
- Work closely with IT, development teams, and external vendors to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
- Create use cases, process models, data flow diagrams, and other necessary documentation to support project initiatives.
- Identify project risks, dependencies, and issues, and work with cross-functional teams to implement mitigation plans.
- Support the creation of testing plans, conduct user acceptance testing (UAT), and verify that project outcomes meet requirements.
- Mentor junior business analysts and contribute to team development and process improvements.
- Monitor project performance and conduct post-implementation reviews to ensure objectives have been met.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business analysis or a related field, with a proven track record of involvement in complex projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Proficient in business analysis tools and methodologies, such as process mapping, data modeling, and requirements gathering.
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC), including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A proactive mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and value-driven project outcomes.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment and respond to shifting priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools (e.g., JIRA), and data visualization software (e.g., Power BI).
NICE TO HAVE
- Knowledge of SQL or other data querying languages is a plus.
- Business Analysis certification is preferred.
