Were supporting a fast-scaling financial technology organization in the search for a Senior Business Analyst (Accounting Business Process) to support a high-growth accounting function undergoing major process transformation. This long-term consulting opportunity will focus on documenting, analyzing, and improving financial workflowsparticularly around journal entries and general ledger analytics. The ideal candidate has a background in accounting and business analysis, thrives in ambiguity, and is comfortable working hands-on with financial data and operational teams to drive meaningful change. Compensation Hourly Rate: $70-$90/hour (W2) Engagement Type: Consulting Duration: Through July 31, 2026 Primary Responsibilities Collaborate directly with accounting stakeholders to document the lifecycle of journal entries and analyze general ledger processes for automation potential. Lead efforts to translate manual processes into clear business requirements to support streamlined, automated workflows. Perform hands-on data analysis to ensure financial reports and accruals align with GL expectations and business performance. Support customized analytics efforts beyond standard reporting, accounting for scale and operational nuances. Partner cross-functionally to ensure process integrity and alignment between finance and systems teams. Contribute to testing and validation of financial functionality across internal tools and platforms. Candidate Qualifications 6+ years of experience in business analysis or business systems roles with strong exposure to accounting operations. Deep knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and financial reporting processes. Strong data analysis capabilities with the ability to manipulate, validate, and troubleshoot complex financial data sets. Ability to navigate ambiguity, quickly ramp up in new environments, and drive structure where none exists. Excellent communication and collaboration skills across both finance and technical stakeholders. Nice to Have Experience with payments, money movement, or transaction-heavy environments. Familiarity with business systems tools (e.g., JIRA, workflow documentation platforms). Exposure to SQL for data validation and issue resolution. Prior work in public accounting, audit, or financial systems transformation.
