Machine Mechanic – Full-Time, Direct Hire | Sumter, SC

We’re seeking a skilled Machine Mechanic to join our high-performing production team, working with state-of-the-art equipment to maintain quality standards and keep operations running smoothly. Pay & Schedule

  • Competitive hourly pay: $26.00 per hour base pay, with an extra $1.50 per hour for night shifts
  • Consistent full-time schedule (on-site)
  • 12-hour night shift and overtime opportunities available

What You Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred for Machine Mechanics
  • Maintenance repair/mechanical experience or proficiency required
  • 2+ years of mechanical experience preferred for Machine Mechanic candidates
  • 6–12 months manufacturing experience desired
  • Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and other mechanical systems a plus
  • Proficient with basic hand tools
  • Knowledge of mechanical components such as bushings, chain drives, conveyors, gearboxes, and ball valves
  • Exposure to electrical components such as sensors, photo-eyes, scales, reed switches, and VFDs preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in the Machine Mechanic role
  • Must be able to work any shift and comply with safety requirements

What You Will Do

  • As a Machine Mechanic, operate, optimize, and maintain assigned production equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain product quality
  • Monitor and maintain accurate equipment logs, downtime records, and maintenance reports
  • Start up and shut down equipment while ensuring optimal function
  • Monitor inventory levels and safety guards for assigned machinery
  • Conduct in-process quality checks and address any issues promptly
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following 5S practices
  • Support upstream and downstream operations as needed
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality system procedures
