The purpose of SITEC 3 is to provide USSOCOM and its associated commands with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services, including Network Operations, system and network infrastructure maintenance, end-user support, configuration management, training, and IMACs services, supporting global operations 24/7. The IT Specialist performs Tier one and two network support, including administration of network and communication systems. The role requires solid technical skills across various network protocols, software, and hardware. Responsibilities include: Installing, tuning, testing, operating, monitoring, upgrading, patching, and managing WAN and LAN infrastructure hardware and software. Designing, configuring, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN capabilities, circuits, and encryption devices. Managing LAN PORs and WAN Programs of Record. Configuring and maintaining wireless LANs and VPN services, ensuring compliance with DoD and USSOCOM policies. Troubleshooting network issues, collaborating with circuit providers, and resolving technical problems. Supporting desktop and mobile device setup, software upgrades, and inventory management.
