Job Title: PREP COOK
nRate of Pay: $21.00/hour
nShift: Monday through Sunday availability required.
n7: 00AM until 5:00 PM
nPart Time (30 hrs/week) or Full Time (40 hrs/week)
nMust be available weekends and holidays.
nFLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly
nnSummary:
nProvide support to the culinary team by properly preparing food items in a timely manner and in a sanitary environment.
nnKey Responsibilities:

- Read and follow directions on the daily prep list. n
- Prepare foods in the correct quantity and preparation style as shown to you by a supervisor. n
- Properly season and taste food preparation to ensure it meet the correct standard set by a supervisor. n
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace. Organization of your tasks to complete them in a timely manner. n
- Organize and store food deliveries daily. Following the direction of your supervisor. n
- Basic knife skills and proper handling techniques are used. n
- Read and follow basic recipe directions from the standard kitchen recipes. n
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment such as: Stove, oven, fryer, pans, pots, blenders, mixers and whatever other equipment is needed. n
- Properly label and date food preparation (FIFO – First in, First out) n
- Store prepared foods in the correct location and manner. n
- Follow proper cleaning procedures for kitchen equipment as outlined by your supervisor. n
- Support recycling for metal and plastic in all abilities. n
- Minimize food waste in preparation. n
- Clean kitchen prep areas in entirety PRIOR to checking out with your supervisor to leave. n
- May assist in the Employee Café or other food outlets as directed. n
- Contribute to a positive work environment. n
Qualifications:

- Entry-level kitchen position; no prior experience required. n
- Basic knowledge of commercial kitchens and food production preferred. n
- Must obtain a food handler's permit within 30 days of employment. n
- Must be at least 18 years old. n
Physical Demands:

- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, handling, and tasting. n
- Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, or crouching. n
- Regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs., frequently up to 100 lbs., and occasionally over 100 lbs. n

- Frequent exposure to moving equipment. n
- Occasional exposure to humidity, extreme temperatures, outdoor conditions, electrical hazards, and vibrations. n
- Moderate noise level. n
