Job Title: Carpenter - Ship Repair Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking skilled Carpenters to join our team in supporting ship repair operations. This role involves constructing keel blocking, cradles, shoring, cribbing, and staging structures. The position also supports tasks related to nuclear and radiological work, aligning navigation lights, operating optical transits, and setting up compasses.

Responsibilities

Erect and dismantle staging and scaffolding on dry docked or waterborne ships, including those around the sail, stern, or within internal tanks.

Build shelters, plenums, and install temporary blocking.

Maintain, adjust, and repair staging and associated equipment.

Layout, manufacture, and install temporary decking aboard ships.

Regularly inspect staging for discrepancies compromising safety and take corrective actions.

Essential Skills

Trained and qualified with experience in tasks and components similar to TSD A5.

Qualified and experienced in operating a Manlift (JLG).

Experienced in erecting, maintaining, and removing pipe staging and related life rails, platforms, and accesses.

Medically fit and trained to wear respiratory protection devices per 29 CFR 1910.134 (Subpart I).

Trained and qualified to wear safety harnesses and work from scaffolds/platforms with drop-offs greater than 5 feet per 29 CFR 1915 (Subpart I).

This is a Contract position based out of Silverdale, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
