Pay : up to $30/hr Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in a USDA-regulated food production environment. This hands-on role is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of processing and packaging equipment, facility systems, and utilities to ensure reliable and safe operations.
Job Duties:
Perform routine and emergency maintenance tasks with a focus on safety and quality standards. Ensure all equipment across the facility operates reliably and is production-ready. Set up, troubleshoot, and repair various packaging systems including stacking, bagging, check-weighing, UPC labeling, case erectors, and conveyors. Disassemble, clean, lubricate, and reassemble machinery per preventative maintenance schedules. Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including motors, starters, relays, breakers, and panels (110/230/460V). Interpret and troubleshoot using electrical schematics. Perform basic PLC and VFD troubleshooting and minor programming tasks. Follow all established safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout and ladder safety procedures. Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and communicate effectively across departments. Support compliance with city, fire, and food safety regulations (SQF standards). Train and guide junior maintenance team members as needed. Assist with inventory control and parts management. Maintain shift-to-shift communication with other maintenance teams and collaborate with production leads and supervisors.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a USDA or FDA-regulated food manufacturing setting. Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills. Proficient with hand and power tools. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Willingness to work any shift as needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
