Overview
Harris County Universal Services is transforming the way the County does business and is seeking an Open Data Analyst to join our team. The Open Data Analyst will guide efforts to ensure data assets support Harris County's Open Data Policy, promote accessibility and availability of data to the public, and work with County departments to expand an open data program.
Responsibilities
- Work with Harris County Departments to expand an open data program.
- Provide guidance on open data governance.
- Review and validate metadata associated with data assets.
- Respond to data inquiries.
- Adhere to strict security protocols to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of all data and information.
- Perform administrative duties as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by a supervisor or senior staff member.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
Experience: Five (5+) or more years' experience as an Open Data Analyst or related position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
- Analytical and Critical Thinking
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interact with staff at all levels
- Strong knowledge of personal computers and various software, specifically Microsoft Office
Additional Information
- Applicants will be subject to a criminal background check that includes fingerprinting (CJIS considerations as applicable).

Work Schedule/Arrangement
- Monday - Friday
- 8 hours/day, Hybrid
- The position is not remote and requires three in-office days per week
