Responsibilities
- Benefits administration duties related to the organization’s health and welfare programs, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, employee assistance program, flexible spending, deferred compensation, health savings accounts, health reimbursement accounts, commute trip reduction program, and supplemental union benefits; provide guidance to employees and retirees on benefit issues; process benefit enrollment and change requests; coordinate with providers to ensure appropriate coverage.
- Possibility of placement on an eligible list to fill HR Specialist vacancies in functional areas such as Talent Solutions, HRMS, and Learning & Development.
- Talent Solutions: work with hiring managers to attract candidates and use the NEOGOV applicant tracking system to implement job-related testing and assessments.
- HRMS: manage employee and position data in SAP/HRMS, ensure compliance with personnel rules, compensation plans, and payroll processes; support reorganizations, budgeting, and workflow issues; provide consultation to supervisors and managers; prepare reports; participate in special projects.
- Learning & Development: support training program logistics (enrollments, scheduling, troubleshooting); assist in development and maintenance of training programs and respond to employee inquiries about citywide trainings.
- Recruiting and general HR program/policy development and updates; create and update reports; administer training programs.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree with a focus on business, human resources, social or organizational behavioral sciences, or related field
- One (1) year of professional human resource experience
Equivalent experience may be substituted for education to meet the minimum qualifications.

Compensation & Benefits
