Feast of Justice 'mission is addressing Hunger, Meeting Needs, and Inspiring Hope as we work for Abundant Justice in Northeast Philadelphia and beyond. Feast of Justice is a non-profit Choice Market food pantry in Northeast Philadelphia! Our food pantry is set up like a grocery store and is 100% volunteer staffed with over 400 active volunteers. Our guests shop for their food based on family size, and we are currently serving about 550 families each week through "distribution" in our indoor Choice Market.
As a
General Pantry Support Volunteer , you will serve in our 100% volunteer-staffed, grocery store food pantry! Create relationships with volunteers and guests while feeding our community in Northeast Philadelphia. Volunteers arrive an hour before distribution begins, to begin team formation, restock shelves, and assign volunteer roles. Serving at Feast of Justice is different every single week, as distribution shifts are fast paced/customer service oriented and require adaptability. Volunteer roles vary from checking in guests into our computer, greeting guests, restocking fresh produce, packing online orders, bagging groceries, and more. Volunteers who speak multiple language are a plus! This is an in-person role, each shift averages 4 hours with some flexibility. We suggest volunteers serve 1-3 shifts per week, 8 hours per week is ideal. Distribution schedule is: Tu 9-12, Wed 10-12 /4-7, Th 10-12, Sat 10-12/1-4.
