We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure continual access to the innovation customers rely on. AWS Hardware Engineering creates server designs for Amazon’s cloud services. Our designs are industry-leading in frugality and operational excellence, and are critical to the AWS business and millions of customers who rely on AWS today. Our engineers solve challenging technology problems and build high-quality components to enable AWS to realize strategic goals. What you will do
You will be a member of a team designing AWS-specific hardware and software. From conception through production, you will contribute to the development effort and explore emerging technologies and their impact on AWS. You will work closely with AWS engineering teams to tailor devices for the AWS environment and collaborate with internal and external engineers (architecture, hardware, validation, software services). You will lead development efforts and leverage your broad system knowledge to find the best solutions to multi-factor problems. Why it matters

Basic Qualifications 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent AWS is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
