We are seeking a highly motivated
Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
to join our team in
Honolulu, Hawaii , supporting specialized
tank cleaning and technical services
supporting the US Navy at
Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF) . This role is critical to ensure full compliance with all Federal, State of Hawaii, and local environmental regulations and safety policies. The EHS Manager will lead and manage environmental programs and training initiatives, oversee waste management practices, and ensure jobsite safety standards are met throughout all phases of project execution. Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage site-specific Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs. Ensure compliance with PHNSY & IMF environmental instructions, including but not limited to 5090.1, 5090.5, 5090.9, 5090.16, and IPI 5000-001. Conduct routine audits, inspections, and hazard assessments across job sites. Oversee waste characterization, accumulation, segregation, and documentation procedures per RCRA and Clean Water Act (NPDES) requirements. Train personnel and subcontractors in HAZWOPER, DOT Hazardous Materials, SPCC, and ODS/NESHAP protocols. Coordinate with Government COR and ensure timely submittal of all required EHS documentation. Stay on-site during work operations and provide daily safety briefings and field support. Review and approve environmental submittals, waste profiles, and sampling plans. Qualifications
Minimum
5 years of environmental and safety management experience , preferably in government or shipyard-related work. Familiarity with
PHNSY & IMF environmental controls, permits, and regulatory systems
is
required . Strong working knowledge of: 40 CFR / 49 CFR / Hawaii Administrative Rules (HAR) RCRA, Clean Water Act (NPDES), Clean Air Act (NESHAP), TSCA (PCBs/asbestos) HAZWOPER, SPCC, DOT HazMat, and ODS protocols
Prior experience with hazardous waste handling, sampling, and disposal in an industrial or naval setting. Excellent communication, leadership, and training skills. Must be eligible for base access and able to pass background checks. Other requirements
All positions require a pre-employment medical test. This employer participates in E-Verify. Must be able to qualify for DBIDS security clearance. Ability to read technical English is a must.
