This is a full-time role reporting to the Senior Director, Project Management within the Delivery/Infrastructure division of Construction & Development. Seniority level: Director Job function: Project Management and Information Technology. Responsibilities
Manage capital project delivery within a business unit of the MTA Construction and Development Delivery Infrastructure unit. Mentor staff to deliver complex capital projects; coordinate activities through project close-out. Monitor project performance against baselines; identify issues and risks; provide recommendations to senior management. Coordinate with C&D staff, operating agency personnel, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient execution of projects. Ensure compliance with requirements, standards, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures; emphasize safety and quality. Prepare and monitor project plans, quality plans, and work plans; maintain project documentation and document control. Manage scope, schedule, and budget; handle procurement processes with Development and Contracts; evaluate bids/proposals; process change orders. Prepare reports and presentations; coordinate audit/inquiry responses for internal and external oversight bodies. Oversee staff selection, coaching, training, development, evaluation, and discipline/termination; foster an inclusive, professional environment. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field. Minimum eight (8) years of related experience. Minimum four (4) years in management of construction programs/projects or supervisory role in a large, multi-faceted organization. Competencies: Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect desirable; PMP and CCM certifications preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in high-profile, high-pressure environments; focus on results and continuous improvement; strong leadership and change-agent capabilities. Proficient in Windows/Microsoft Office; familiarity with PeopleSoft, Oracle; strong business administration skills. Other Information
