Nourish Mobile Food Bank Customer Service

Help feed your neighbors in need as a volunteer with us! As a food bank volunteer, you directly contribute to our mission of providing nutritious food to people in need with compassion, dignity, and respect. Volunteering with Nourish Pierce County is a great way to meet new people, serve an immediate need in the community, and have some fun! Duties include, but are not limited to: Greet and welcome food bank guests Help check guests in Help load groceries in clients cars Within the food bank, help move boxes of food around and stage for distribution Sort and bag fresh produce Pack non-perishable grocery boxes Assist with food distribution and replenish food bins Clean food bank and assist with garbage disposal Interact with all volunteers, staff and clients with compassion, dignity, and respect Skills Necessary: Must be physically fit and able to lift at least 20 pounds repeatedly throughout shifts Ability to work on your feet for several hours Good interpersonal and communication skills Comfortable in a busy environment Courtesy and helpfulness are expected Closed toe shoes and shirts with sleeves are required Basic computer skills (sign up for volunteer shifts online, assist with client check-in, etc) Good customer service skills and the ability to work in a team are required Getting started is easy and you can be volunteering in as little as two days after applying!
