Interchange Food Pantry Volunteer Shifts
Interchange Food Pantry, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States, 53244
The Interchange Food Pantry's (IFP) mission is to improve our guests' health and well-being through nutritious food and compassion. Recognizing that food distribution is not equitable, IFP is sensitive to the needs of Milwaukee's underserved populations and their inability to access healthy foods due to the high cost of food and living in food deserts. IFP has two locations, with our primary location on the cusp of Milwaukee's food desert at 130 E. Juneau Avenue. Our satellite food pantry is located in Milwaukee's north side food desert area at 1530 W. Atkinson Avnenue. IFP served 55,682 guests between the two pantries in 2024.
Volunteers at Interchange help with packing bags of food, staging the shopping area, pulling guests' orders, handing out the orders to our guests, and putting the stock away at the end of the day. We couldn't do this work without all the help we get from volunteers! Our current weekly volunteer schedule at our primary location is:
Tuesday: 10 am to 1 pm (pantry set up)
Tuesday: 1 pm to 4 pm (guest shopping day)
Wednesday: 1 pm to 4 pm (pantry set up)
Wednesday: 3 pm to 6 pm (guest shopping day)
Thursday: 8 am to 11:30 am (guest shopping day)
Saturday: 8 am to 11:30 am (guest shopping day)
Our satellite food pantry is open the second and fourth Sunday.
Sunday: 11:30 am to 2:30 pm (guest shopping day)
Once you request to volunteer with IFP, we will email you with instructions and add you to our great list of volunteers!
