This key role will be responsible for the Accounting and Finance operations for a real estate investment and management organization controlling $2+ billion of multifamily and commercial real estate investments, the majority through assets that are self-managed. The Senior Vice President will be a member of the Executive Team and be responsible for all accounting aspects of the organization including the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, the review and payment of all tax returns, regular process of cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, insurance, property income and expense filings and payments, loan compliance reporting, financial system application development, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A). This role manages 70+ entities and may oversee up to 5 direct reports among a team of 15. Base pay range

$250,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr Additional compensation types

Annual Bonus Key responsibilities

Provide executive oversight of all accounting and finance functions, including payroll. Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, systems and controls, including general ledger, financial reporting and cash flow management. Oversee the general ledger month-end close and prepare financial analysis and results for Executive management. Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to Executive Team. Prepare and oversee monthly and quarterly distributions as well as financials for investor reporting. Produce key financial reports for quarterly Advisory Board meetings. Analyze the Company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and budget compliance. Participate in strategic financial planning and develop long-term financial plans and structures in support of the Executive Team's strategic plan. Manage relationships with tax consultants, audit firm, banks, insurance providers, credit card companies, accounting system providers, and other third parties to fulfill Company objectives. Ensure lender reporting and compliance with financial covenants and applicable regulations and accounting standards. Communicate with operations management to ensure compliance with financial policies. Safeguard assets and develop early warning systems to identify and mitigate fraud. Manage property and casualty insurance program. Partner with Investments Team on tax appeal applications. Oversee timely income and expense filings. Manage and support Payroll Director for accurate and compliant payroll operations. Oversee CAM reconciliations for commercial tenants. Oversee Finance Systems development, including Yardi roadmap and development. Perform other duties as trained and qualified to do. Key qualifications

CPA mandatory; Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; MBA preferred. Extensive real estate industry knowledge and experience, specifically real estate income tax accounting. Proven ability to motivate and manage teams. Minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant financial experience. Demonstrated success in a complex organization with multiple divisions and revenue streams. Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills. Experience in Yardi or MRI or RealPage. Ability to multi-task, work independently and delegate in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail; impeccable integrity and clean financial history. Familiarity with outsourcing options and interest in AI tools to improve efficiency. BMC's People First Commitment

The market-based pay range for this role is $250,000-$300,000 annually (plus additional bonus incentives), negotiable based on qualifications. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
