Role: Project Coordinator Client: DC Government Location: Washington, DC (Onsite)

Overview The Project Coordinator will be responsible for tracking, managing, and coordinating projects across the OUC Information Technology Division, ensuring initiatives involving 911, 311, radio, telephony, networking, applications development, and infrastructure systems are delivered on time and within scope. This resource will support the CIO in the planning, execution, and reporting for IT initiatives, while providing analytical support and performance monitoring across IT domains.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and supports large projects or significant segments of large, complex projects.

Tracks project and operational issues and supports analysis and solution development with Subject Matter Experts (SME).

Provides project coordination and support for enterprise IT systems, including telephony, CAD applications, radio technology/services, call floor infrastructure, networking, and application services.

Supports long- and short-range planning for systems development, maintenance, upgrades, and IT services activities.

Monitors progress against milestones, schedules, budgets, and deliverables to align with IT priorities.

Coordinates assessments of technical and operational practices for system upgrades and changes based on industry standards.

Supports planning and research on new technologies to modernize IT systems.

Gathers information and performance data for IT leadership.

Participates in IT budget planning and forecasting, including project funding requirements.

Maintains program documentation, including project plans, timelines, requirements, and progress reports.

Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with project objectives.

Monitors and reports on IT performance metrics for leadership updates.

Coordinates with vendors and stakeholders for maintenance and upgrades that could be service-impacting.

Provides coordination and status updates for enterprise-wide initiatives, including infrastructure upgrades and system performance troubleshooting.

Coordinates, tracks, and reports during deployment of new hardware and applications (installation, configuration, testing, user support).

Uses the ServiceNow ticketing system to manage IT service tickets according to established processes.

Supports IT asset management by tracking and maintaining hardware/software inventory and lifecycle status.

Coordinates call floor activities (911/311), including daily checks, software testing, bug troubleshooting, escalation of glitches, and end-user IT support.

Qualifications Minimum Education/Certification Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience; or a current PMP Certification.

Experience

Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent: 5 years (Preferred)

Practices & concepts related to lifecycle management: 4 years (Preferred)

Principles, methods, practices & concepts: 3 years (Preferred)

Developing recommendations on trends & new technologies: 3 years (Preferred)

Developing requirements and scope of work for IT: 3 years (Preferred)

Performance metrics utilization: 3 years (Preferred)

Customer support, problem resolution databases: 3 years (Preferred)

6-10 years project support and coordination: 6 years (Preferred)

Tracking program progress against the project plan: 6 years (Preferred)

Preparing status reports: 6 years (Preferred)

MS Project or similar project planning software: 6 years (Preferred)
