The RealReal , serving as the primary financial advisor and strategic partner to the C-suite across Marketing, Merchandising, and Sales. This leader will oversee all aspects of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic analytics to drive enterprise-level growth and supply & demand acquisition strategies. The Vice President will be responsible for translating complex business dynamics into actionable insights that shape high-impact decisions across the organization. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and partners closely with the SVP, Strategy & Performance Marketing, Chief Merchandising Officer & the VP, Sales, playing a central role in shaping The RealReal’s growth roadmap. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and is comfortable influencing at the highest levels of leadership. What You Get To Do Everyday Act as a strategic and operational finance leader, guiding Marketing, Merchandising & Sales executives on resource allocation, performance optimization, and long-term planning to unlock scalable and profitable supply Provide executive-level financial analysis and strategic recommendations, including scenario modeling, business case development, and investment prioritization Lead cross-functional collaboration with business, analytics, and finance leaders to establish and monitor KPIs that drive accountability and business clarity Shape and drive the company-wide planning calendar, including annual budgeting, long-term strategic planning, and quarterly forecasts Present directly to executive leadership and the Board on financial performance, investment returns, and business risks and opportunities Oversee the design and execution of financial models, reporting frameworks, and performance dashboards that align strategic goals with measurable outcomes Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, tools, and systems, enabling agility and greater business impact Lead and grow a high-performing finance organization, including mentoring senior finance managers and promoting a culture of analytical rigor and cross-functional influence Serve as a key leader on the finance team, partnering with Controllership & Accounting, Corporate FP&A, Investor Relations & Analytics What You Bring To The Role Minimum Requirements: 15+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Investment Banking, Corporate Strategy, or related fields, including at least 8+ years leading high-performing teams Proven success as a finance executive supporting Marketing, Merchandising, Sales or revenue-generating teams in a complex, operationally scaled business Strong command of financial modeling, scenario planning, and performance measurement Exceptional communication skills and executive presence; ability to simplify complex financial information and influence senior stakeholders Ability to work cross-functionally and operate effectively in matrixed, high-growth environments Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace Strong judgment, high integrity, and a collaborative leadership style Ability to travel up to 10% to warehouse facilities and San Francisco HQ as needed Preferred Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Economics, Finance, or Mathematics MBA or other advanced degree Experience in management consulting or leading company-wide strategic planning processes NetSuite, Adaptive Planning, and Looker experience Compensation, Benefits, + Perks Employee Stock Purchase Plan 401K with Company Match Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance Paid Parental Leave 9 Paid Company Holidays Flexible Time Off (With Manager Approval) Find out more about our Benefits here. The expected salary range for this role is $250,000-$275,000. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
