The Marketing team fuels PitchBook’s growth by generating demand, advancing brand awareness, and delivering digital experiences that convert and retain clients. We partner with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Research to make PitchBook’s data and insights accessible to global audiences. Within Marketing, the SEO function ensures our digital presence is discoverable, competitive, and continually optimized in a changing search landscape. The Sr. SEO Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing effective search engine optimization (SEO) strategies that drive measurable growth and strengthen PitchBook’s organic search visibility. This role emphasizes scalable SEO tactics and content strategies as well as generative engine optimization (GEO) and answer engine optimization (AEO) to expand visibility across global markets. The Sr. SEO Manager will also leverage technical SEO expertise to ensure site health, performance, and discoverability at scale. Collaboration is key—working closely with product, content strategy, performance marketing, campaigns, demand generation, creative, marketing operations, news, and research. The ideal candidate is an SEO expert who is highly analytical, able to design and run strategic experiments, and comfortable operating at both the strategic and tactical level. Primary Job Responsibilities

Develop and execute SEO roadmaps across technical, content, GEO/localization, and AEO initiatives Manage SEO agency relationships—setting strategy, ensuring accountability, and driving measurable ROI Act as a trusted partner across teams, ensuring SEO strategy aligns with company priorities Lead technical audits to resolve crawl, indexation, schema, performance, and site architecture issues Partner with engineering to scale site performance and optimize for speed, reliability, and scalability Implement automated interlinking and scalable sitewide SEO enhancements Guide content and editorial teams on keyword targeting, scalable topic clustering, and structured data Develop and oversee scalable link-building programs that strengthen domain authority and visibility Drive SEO initiatives that increase organic traffic and engagement to News & Insights Design and run SEO experiments (A/B, multivariate) to validate hypotheses and inform strategy Use data-driven insights to refine tactics and continuously optimize for both users and search engines Define SEO KPIs and build reporting dashboards covering rankings, traffic, conversions, and ROI Deliver regular performance updates and insights across the Digital Team and leadership Stay ahead of evolving algorithms, GEO/AEO opportunities, and SEO best practices Champion emerging tactics and technologies that keep PitchBook competitive Lead SEO strategy for a high-impact digital growth channel with visibility across the business Manage an SEO agency and partner with internal teams to scale programs globally Drive growth in targeted organic traffic to News & Insights and other priority sections of PitchBook.com Thrive in a collaborative culture that values curiosity, innovation, and measurable impact Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested Skills and Qualifications

7+ years of SEO experience with at least 2+ years managing SEO agencies or external vendors Proven success with scalable SEO tactics (interlinking, content expansion, link building) Strong expertise in technical SEO (crawl/indexation, structured data, hreflang, site architecture) Experience with international SEO Skilled with enterprise SEO and analytics tools (Screaming Frog, SEMrush, GSC, GA4, Looker, Tableau) Hands-on experience running SEO experiments and reporting on results Excellent communicator who can translate tactical SEO into clear business outcomes Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment Benefits + Compensation at PitchBook

Compensation Annual base salary: $120,000-$132,541 Target annual bonus percentage: 10% Working Conditions At the heart of our company is a belief in the power of in-person collaboration. The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
