The MRI Operations Manager is responsible for managing the business and patient care operations of the department. In addition, they are responsible for monitoring the operating budget throughout the year. In collaborates with the MGB Clinical Director, they work on business plans to introduce and support new clinical programs or technologies.

The MRI Operations Manager will work with other departments or organizations to maintain an environment committed to the highest standards of quality care, patient safety, and customer service by identifying and implementing innovative approaches to improving care. It is important that the Operations Manager develops a collaborative relationship with the other departments and physicians to better support and promote the department's overall short and long term goals.

Ensures that adequate written MRI safety procedures, work instructions, emergency procedures, and operating instructions are issued to all MRI staff after full consultation with the MGB MRI Director of Clinical Director and the MGB MRI Service Chief. In addition, the MRI Operations manager must maintain personnel records of those requiring MRI safety training.

Responsible for oversight and management of the radiology department. Ensures smooth operations management of the department, effective budgetary and strategic results, and subject matter expert. Responsibilities include compliance of regulatory and industry trends as well as education of radiology changes and improvements for staff and other leadership.

Essential Functions

Provide operations management, identify operational inefficiencies, operational flow, quality improvement, performance measurement, and implementation of new practices Ensure compliance with patient care quality standards and all related regulatory requirements Management of clinical staff, staff scheduling, triage duties, and is a resource to staff Development of fiscal operating budget, ongoing assessment, investigating practices to remain within the budget and opportunities for improvement, and assists in variance reporting Management of clinical activities for students to ensure they are meeting core curriculum requirements and encourage opportunities for future employment within MGB Ensures compliance of all regulatory obligations (federal, state, etc.) and industry trends

Qualifications

Education

Associate's Degree Diagnostic Imaging required or Bachelor's Degree Health Sciences preferred

Licenses and Credentials

Basic Life Support - required

Magnetic Resonance Imaging [ARRT-MR] - required

Experience

Radiology/MRI tech experience with multiple patient populations 5-7 years required

Leadership Experience 2-3 Years Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong communication skills. Ability to effectively evaluate and problem solve. Ability to guide, teach, and motivate others. Strong business acumen skills.
