The Director of E-Commerce is a strategic leader responsible for driving the technology strategy, development, and operations that power Good Ranchers’ online business. This role owns the performance, scalability, and innovation of our e-commerce ecosystem ensuring we deliver a fast, frictionless, and conversion-focused experience for every customer. You will lead a lean but high-impact technology team, manage platform vendors, and work cross-functionally to align technical capabilities with business growth goals.

E-commerce Strategy:
Develop, plan, and execute a comprehensive e-commerce technology strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives. Identify technology opportunities, market trends, and innovative ways to increase online sales and brand presence. Website and Digital Platform Management:
Oversee the development, design, and functionality of the company’s e-commerce website and other digital sales channels (Shopify, Recharge, integrations). Ensure the site is user-friendly, secure, and optimized for performance and conversion. Manage the overall user experience (UX), site navigation, content, and the sales checkout funnel. Ensure scalability, speed, and site stability to handle peak traffic and high-volume promotions. Digital Marketing and Sales:
Collaborate with marketing to drive traffic and sales. Include SEO, PPC advertising, email marketing, social media, and other digital campaigns. Champion A/B testing, analytics-driven decisions, and emerging tech (AI, personalization, predictive analytics). Team Leadership and Management:
Build, lead, and mentor a team of e-commerce professionals, which may include outside agencies and collaborators. Set team goals, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative and productive work environment. Manage workflows, agile sprints, QA processes, and deployment cycles. Performance Analysis and Optimization:
Monitor and analyze KPIs such as website traffic, conversion rates, and load speed. Use data-driven insights to optimize the online store and overall business performance. Budget Management:
Own and manage the e-commerce budget, including forecasting and managing all technology expenses (headcount, contractors, infrastructure, software). Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work with marketing, product management, operations, and customer experience to ensure a seamless and consistent customer experience across all channels (omnichannel strategy). Qualifications
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in Technology, Digital Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is required. MBA or other advanced degree is preferred. Experience:
7+ years in an e-commerce or digital leadership role with a track record of developing and executing successful e-commerce strategies. Experience in managing teams and complex projects. Experience in DTC subscription brands (food & beverage / CPG) preferred. Strategic Business Acumen:
Ability to think strategically, analyze market trends, and develop long-term business plans. Comfort with financial metrics and budget management. Data Analysis:
Proficiency in web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions. Digital Marketing Expertise:
Knowledge of digital marketing channels and tactics, including SEO, SEM, PPC, email, and social media. Leadership and Communication:
