In this role, you will provide chemical expertise to support product innovation, claims validation, and manufacturing excellence across Clorox’s portfolio of consumer goods. What will you do?
Seeking an
Analytical Chemistry Expert
with hands-on experience in chromatography (LC, GC, IC), sample preparation, and method development for consumer goods products. Proficient in instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting (HPLC, LC-MS, LC-QTOF-MS, GC, GC-MS, GC-QTOF-MS) and familiar with Agilent and ABSciex systems. Experienced in
elemental analysis
(ICP-OES, ICP-MS, XRF) and
spectroscopic techniques
(UV/VIS, FTIR, fluorescence, EDX, EPR, NMR), along with wet chemistry methods. Skilled in chemical analysis of both organic and inorganic compounds, including surfactants, antimicrobials, antioxidants, metals, and redox species, with expertise in sample preparation, extraction, and data interpretation. Knowledgeable in
method validation and transfer
to R&D, CROs, and QA/QC laboratories, and familiar with GLP, GMP, and EPA/FDA-regulated environments. Strong abilities in
data analytics, experimental design (DOE), trend analysis, and implementing corrective actions
to support product optimization and troubleshooting. Demonstrated success in
cross-functional collaboration
with project teams, regulatory, and legal departments to define testing requirements, support product development, and ensure compliance. Innovative mindset with the ability to identify and implement emerging analytical technologies to enhance capabilities and meet evolving business needs. What are we looking for?
B.S., M.Sc., or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field. 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role within an analytical chemistry laboratory, ideally in consumer-packaged goods, food, chemicals, crop protection, pharmaceuticals, or a contract research organization. Serve as the primary technical contact for chromatography/separations requests and provide expert guidance on all aspects of analytical chemistry to scientists and management. Lead and actively participate in accurate and robust analyses of actives and inserts for all product types and prototypes across Clorox business units. Manage chemicals and operate/maintain instruments and software with peak performance and safety. Optimize analytical methodologies, upgrade equipment, and recommend new analytical tools as needed. Conduct laboratory investigations for anomalous results, identify solutions, and oversee analyses performed at CROs. Train technical staff and develop training programs to build team capabilities. Design and execute experiments, processing analytical data using instrument software, DOE tools, and other statistical applications.
