Overview
Our client, a rapidly growing aviation company, is seeking an experienced and strategic Cloud Infrastructure Lead to join their technology team. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in Azure, demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives, and expertise in designing resilient infrastructure solutions and implementing disaster recovery strategies. The Cloud Infrastructure Lead will play a critical role in ensuring our systems are high-performing, reliable, and secure. This is a hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite Responsibilities
Design and configure infrastructure solutions leveraging Azure Virtual Machines, AKS, Managed SQL Instances, Logic Apps, and other services. Lead complex cross-team initiatives, including business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing. Administer, monitor, and support the organization’s Azure tenant, Windows Server environment, and ancillary systems. Design, implement, and maintain observability, monitoring, and alerting systems to proactively track performance and health. Lead incident response efforts to ensure issues are quickly communicated and resolved. Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools such as Terraform and Bicep to automate cloud resource provisioning. Configure and support cloud networking and security services (Azure Firewall, Network Security Groups, Private Networking, DNS, Application Gateway, Azure Front Door). Support Cisco Meraki network hardware and M365 services (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive). Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members. Oversee cloud governance policies and optimize infrastructure costs. Respond to security alerts, remediate vulnerabilities, and manage Cloud Security Posture. Research and evaluate new technologies, conduct proofs of concept, and recommend improvements. Develop and maintain system architecture documentation and procedures. Participate in on-call rotation and provide off-hours support and maintenance as needed. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 10+ years of progressive IT experience. 5+ years supporting the Azure Cloud Computing Platform (VMs, AKS, SQL Managed Instances, Azure Firewall). 5+ years administering M365 environments (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Entra ID). Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure best practices and emerging trends. Proficiency with automation and IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep) and scripting (PowerShell). Advanced understanding of security and network protocols. Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions. Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, CCNA) are a plus.
