About the Role

The Company is in search of an Executive Director for Development Communications, a key leadership role in the advancement of the institution's mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing a wide range of communication initiatives that enhance the company's reputation among various constituents, including donors, parents, and alumni. This role involves close collaboration with fundraising and communication teams to ensure consistent and donor-focused content, particularly in the context of the company's comprehensive campaign. The Executive Director will also oversee the design and implementation of fundraising communications, provide strategic recommendations on campaign messaging, and lead the development of campaign-related materials.

Candidates for the Executive Director position should have a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience, with a preference for those who have worked in a complex organizational context and have a background in campaign communications, particularly within a university setting. A bachelor's degree in a related field is required, and an advanced degree is preferred. The role demands a professional with highly developed managerial and organizational skills, excellent writing and editing abilities, and a proven track record in defining and achieving strategic communication goals. The ideal candidate will be adept at working with diverse teams, value equity, and be committed to diversity and inclusion. Responsibilities also include supervising a team, serving as a key liaison between different departments, and actively engaging in the stewardship of campaign communications.
