JE Dunn Construction . Role Summary: The Project Director will provide overall direction and leadership for the assigned work program across all phases of the project lifecycle. This position is responsible for operational excellence, financial management, team leadership and relationship management with all stakeholders, driving contracting and comprehensive risk management to meet or exceed contractual and financial targets. All activities are performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn. Responsibilities
Provides direction and leadership for the assigned project or work program across all phases of the project lifecycle. Develops and executes full business and strategic planning for the work program in support of company strategy and KSIs. Safety Leadership: Leads all aspects of the company’s safety culture and demonstrates commitment to an injury-free environment through actions and mentoring. Investigates safety incidents and implements corrective action. Corporate Leadership: Assists senior management with strategy development; supports company-wide initiatives, best practices and policies within the work program. Strategy Development and Implementation: Provides strategic direction to team members in line with broader work program plans across the project lifecycle. Client Relationship Management: Serves as the primary client relationship executive at a leadership level, builds and maintains long-term relationships with existing target clients and guides project teams accordingly. Risk Management & Issue Resolution: Escalates project, financial, contractual and client relationship risks; negotiates change orders and fee adjustments; conducts risk assessments and mitigates issues. Subcontractor Relationship & Strategy: Develops long-term subcontractor partnerships and leads the selection process to achieve project results; executes overall subcontractor strategy. Preconstruction: Leads preconstruction discussions with clients at a leadership level and collaborates on contractual obligations, estimates, schedules, staffing and business plans. Project & Schedule Review: Oversees project and schedule reviews to ensure contractual obligations are met and team accountability. Resource Management: Ensures adequate staffing relative to commitments and schedules; plans and adapts resources as needed. Community & Industry Engagement: Represents the organization in community and industry relationships to promote company interests. Leads and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion in alignment with JE Dunn policies. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to perform work accurately and completely, in a timely manner Strong verbal and written communication; Advanced presentations Proficiency in MS Office; Advanced project management and accounting software such as CMiC Thorough knowledge of project processes and how they support successful completion Proficiency in required construction technology and Lean processes Ability to manage budgets, maximize profitability, and generate future work Experience with estimating and productivity analysis Track record of completing projects from start to finish Knowledge of MBE, WBE, SBA regulations and corporate risk management policies Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team Education
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field Equivalents: relevant experience may be considered. Experience
15+ years construction management experience (Preferred) 5+ years people management experience (Required) Demonstrated success in leading multiple large or complex projects or teams (Required) Experience managing large 50M+ Aviation projects (Required) Working Environment
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds May require periods of overnight travel May require non-traditional hours to meet project needs Normal office environment with possible extreme conditions (hot or cold) Frequent activity: standing, walking, sitting, viewing computer screen Occasional activity: bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling Benefits
