Partner, National Strategic Accounts - Retina at Astellas Pharma. This is a field-based role with possible hybrid arrangements in accordance with Astellas’ Responsible Flexibility Guidelines. Purpose

The Partner, National Key Accounts - Retina is responsible for driving the strategic direction and execution of Astellas' ophthalmology product, IZERVAY, across retina Private Equity groups and top-priority retina accounts. The role leads efforts to generate demand and foster market growth through effective strategic account management, contract execution and pull-through strategies. The position defines and delivers engagement strategies that drive market share, expand Astellas' presence, and build long-term customer relationships. As the primary point of contact for senior executives within target accounts, the Partner National Key Accounts develops and executes customer-centric business plans and solutions that enhance access to Astellas\' therapies. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with internal teams to make strategic decisions that elevate Astellas\' market position and improve patient outcomes. The position will shape business opportunities and drive results that support both organizational goals and customer needs. Responsibilities

Lead and execute contract pull-through initiatives within assigned priority accounts and Private Equity groups to meet and exceed objectives. Monitor performance to ensure consistent business growth and alignment with strategic goals. Develop and execute account-specific strategies that integrate market insights, customer needs, and Astellas’ objectives to drive measurable business results. Coordinate with regional key account teams to pull through strategies at the regional level and with National GPO account teams to inform contracting strategies and enable effective pull-through. Lead executive-level engagement with key stakeholders (e.g., C-suite executives, Pharmacy Directors, key physician leaders, business development officers) to foster trust-based relationships and shape critical business opportunities within assigned accounts. Collaborate with matrix internal teams (market access lead, sales, marketing, contracting) to orchestrate account engagement and develop tailored plans and solutions that drive business success and maximize market access. Leverage understanding of market dynamics and customer decision-making to proactively identify and address business challenges with creative, actionable solutions. Monitor the competitive landscape and evolving customer needs to provide timely, actionable feedback to leadership and refine strategies that position Astellas as a leader in oncology and ophthalmology care. Qualifications

10+ years of pharmaceutical or equivalent business experience with a strong track record in account management or leadership (5+ years in a senior capacity). 7+ years of experience in the ophthalmology/retina therapeutic area. Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans that drive business outcomes and meet market demands. Strong negotiation, analytical, and business acumen to navigate complex customer environments and optimize contract execution. Exceptional ability to build relationships based on trust and influence with both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders. Track record of success in contract implementation and sales growth, with accountability for achieving objectives. Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and influence at all levels. High-level organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple complex projects across competing timelines. Bachelor\'s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field. Ability to travel >75% of the time and maintain a valid driver’s license. Ability to travel on weekends as needed to attend strategic customer events such as conferences and summits. Preferred

Experience with GPOs, contract negotiations and pull-through initiatives. Experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving organizational change. Benefits
