Overview
Northwest Medical Center (NMC) is a 300-bed hospital offering a wide range of healthcare services including emergency services, accredited chest pain center, neurology, outpatient imaging, a nationally accredited surgical weight loss program, total joint program, spine program, stroke center, robotic surgery, GI lab, a free-standing women’s center, women’s imaging center of excellence (including 3D mammography), and urgent care facilities throughout Tucson. NMC also has ambulatory surgery centers and Northwest Primary and Specialty Care, a multi-specialty clinic group with more than 100 employed providers. NMC is one of four hospitals part of Northwest Healthcare in Tucson, Arizona. Responsibilities
As a member of the hospital's senior management team, participate in operational decision-making processes necessary for the successful attainment of the hospital's mission and monitor changes in healthcare matters that could impact the hospital's success. Ensure success of the hospital through quality enhancement, cost containment, revenue growth and development of strong relationships with hospital staff, board members, and community leaders. Overall operations of the acute-care facility. Work with system management to develop and implement policies and procedures, short- and long-range goals, objectives and plans. Provide leadership to hospital managers, directors and officers to enroll support, create ownership of goals, and encourage active participation in decisions that impact the hospital. Ensure the hospital meets necessary regulatory and compliance approvals and quality accreditations in conjunction with the hospital's Chief Nursing Officer. Partner with physicians who use, or will use, the hospital; take a leadership role in recruiting and retaining physicians. Assist in planning new services that generate additional sources of profitable revenue. Create an environment that will encourage the recruiting and retention of qualified hospital employees. Manage costs by continually seeking data that identify opportunities and take action to eliminate non-value costs in conjunction with the hospital's Chief Financial Officer and Chief Nursing Officer. Develop and maintain positive relations with the community where the hospital is located as well as community leaders. Analyze areas in planning, promoting and conducting organization-wide performance improvement activities. Represent the hospital at meetings including medical staff, hospital board of directors meetings, and relevant community meetings; participate with leaders in designing and providing patient care and services. Participate in the hospital's monthly operation reviews as well as corporate office meetings as deemed necessary. The CEO will oversee multiple department heads including the hospital's Chief Financial Officer and Chief Nursing Officer. Qualifications
A Masters degree in hospital administration and/or business administration. A minimum of 5 or more years of demonstrated successful leadership in a healthcare facility, which includes but is not limited to: building relationships with board members, physicians, hospital employees, and community; growing hospital revenue to meet budgetary goals and objectives; and meeting necessary regulatory and compliance approvals and quality accreditations.
