Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit The Department of Athletics exists to provide educational and athletic opportunities to young men and women, to provide an environment for student-athletes to learn, advance and excel both academically and athletically, and to serve the interests of the University by complimenting and enhancing its diversity and quality of life. Through its athletic programs, the University seeks to unite alumni, faculty, administration and students in a common shared experience. The governing unit within the Department of Athletics is the Director's Office, which is the administrative office and clearinghouse for the entire Department of Athletics, and promotes the department's guiding principle of educating and inspiring through athletics. This unit provides support to administrators, coaches, staff members and student-athletes in order to provide and promote a premier intercollegiate athletic program for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Athletics is a highly visible public relations arm of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with statewide, national and international recognition.

Position Summary The Recruiting Coordinator for Wrestling reports to the head coach and assists with all aspects of the Wrestling program including but not limited to: team travel, on-campus recruiting, match day planning and operations, supervision of student employees, organization and conduct of special events, donor relations, and promotion of the program and all its related events. The Recruiting Coordinator will work directly with the coaching staff and sport administrators to support the successful operation and development of the wrestling program within University, ACC, and NCAA rules.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Minimum of a bachelor's degree required (or foreign degree equivalent) with at least 1 year of experience in relevant independent instructional or educational activities; specific minimum experience is at the discretion of the Director of Athletics.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Thorough knowledge of the sport of wrestling; strong interpersonal communications skills; knowledge of and familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations required. Must have a valid NC Driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Prefer strong computer skills and experience working in an intercollegiate athletics environment.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements May be required to lift/move 25 lbs or greater. May be required to navigate stairs. Must be able to manage a fast-paced, high volume work environment. Attention to detail essential. Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as reqluired. Travel required.
