International Ocean Film Foundation
Board of Directors - Membership Program Committee Chair
International Ocean Film Foundation, San Francisco, California, United States, 94199
The International Ocean Film Foundation (IOFF) is recruiting for a Membership Program Committee Chair to oversee all marketing and communication channels to increase brand awareness of the IOFF and increase public participation. Board candidates with at least 3-5 years of board member experience are encouraged to apply.
Launched in 2004, the IOFF is an ocean conservation advocacy organization using the power of storytelling through independent film to raise awareness to protect our oceans. We produce year-round programming, including a premier film festival each spring with a strong commitment to inspire the next generation of ocean conservationists by offering a Free Ocean Film Education Program for middle and high school students.
The role of an IOFF Board Director is to promote and endorse the IOFF efforts throughout the communities it serves, and act in a judicious manner and in accordance with fiduciary responsibility for the organization. As a volunteer team, the Board of Directors is responsible for using its network to advance ocean conservation by supporting the organization's pillars of ocean education. The Board of Director volunteer role commitment is a four-year term with an annual financial obligation.
We achieve this by organizing a world-class environmental film festival, securing industry thought leaders and speakers, expanding our global audience base and empowering youth with opportunities. Board members volunteer their time, skills, and knowledge to promote the foundation to their personal and professional networks, provide strategic guidance and create their own initiatives and partnerships to fundraise and increase awareness about the organization’s mission and its programs.
