Overview


Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking a Union HR Representative to join a growing and dynamic team! This position serves as a thoughtful and tactical business partner by ensuring compliance and collaboration across departments. The HRBP promotes and maintains positive relationships with managers, employees, and union representatives, and plays a key role in administering policies and managing various human resource functions.


Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a business-related field.


Type: Full-time; Temp to Hire or Direct Hire


Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm


Responsibilities



  • Oversee the administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and the resolution of labor relations matters such as grievances, unfair labor practices, focus groups, discussions, and investigations.

  • Act as a liaison between management and union representatives with a focus on dispute resolution and contract interpretation.

  • Design, develop, and administer HR policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with the CBA and applicable federal and state laws.

  • Train and partner with managers and employees to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.

  • Address employee concerns by conducting timely investigations and partnering with leadership to implement effective solutions.

  • Track, educate, and oversee the disciplinary action process.

  • Represent the organization in unemployment or labor dispute hearings.

  • Foster strong, open relationships with managers, employees, and union representatives.

  • Develop and implement employee recognition programs and initiatives.

  • Establish and maintain systems and audits for accurate records management and preparation of statistical reports for administrative and regulatory use.

  • Support talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation, and leave administration.

  • Actively participate in and contribute to HR process improvement initiatives and projects.

  • Use sound judgment and maintain a focus on safety and compliance.

  • Follow all organizational policies, department guidelines, code of conduct, and the REHAB employee handbook.


Qualifications



  • Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) experience is required

  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred

  • Strong understanding of business operations and alignment of HR goals with organizational strategy.

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute HR plans that meet business objectives.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with business leaders, employees, and union representatives.

  • Proficient in identifying, analyzing, and resolving employee relations issues and other HR-related matters.

  • Skilled in both verbal and written communication across organizational levels.

  • Excellent coaching and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • High degree of competency in HRIS systems.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and strategic mindset.

  • High ethical standards with the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite.

  • Solid understanding of employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
