Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, with 8-10 years of progressive experience, including management experience. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of ADP Vantage / Workforce Manager and Microsoft Office. SPHR or PHR Certification preferred. Travel requirement: 5%.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate with the OCSC, ACSC, and SEWS Canada teams to provide HR expertise and problem-solving while administering corporate policies related to core HR services, processes, and programs. The HR Manager should assess HR issues proactively, support Business Unit objectives strategically, and communicate effectively within the department and with management.

  1. Serve as a Business Partner: Provide counsel and advice to management to ensure labor effectiveness and consistent policy application.
  2. Supervise HR Department: Ensure high-quality customer service.
  3. Ensure Legal Compliance: Oversee compliance with federal and state laws such as OSHA, EEOC, Workers’ Compensation, Unemployment, FMLA, ADA, and Ontario employment standards, including statutory leaves and disability accommodations.
  4. Manage Employee Relations and Programs: Oversee activities including wellness programs, promote a positive work environment, and assist with employee relations and performance issues.
  5. Administer Corporate Programs: Collaborate with Corporate General Affairs & HR on compensation, benefits, suggestion programs, performance management, and succession planning.
  6. Recruitment and Retention: Oversee hiring, retention strategies, immigration, and work visas.
  7. Payroll and Benefits Administration: Oversee weekly hourly and biweekly salaried payroll, including Canada payroll and benefits.
  8. Lead HR Projects: Support strategic initiatives and implementation with senior management.
  9. Workplace Safety: Coordinate with corporate safety and serve on safety committees.
  10. Other Duties: As assigned.
