Catholic Charities Worcester County is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Human Resources Specialist to join our team. This position serves as the primary HR contact for an assigned group of programs and provides full-scope HR support across the employee lifecycle.

This position reports to the HR Manager and partners closely with supervisors and staff to deliver responsive, high-quality support in areas such as recruitment, onboarding, records management, benefits and payroll coordination, and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support recruitment efforts: posting jobs, conducting references

  • Facilitate onboarding and new hire orientation; ensure all required documentation is complete

  • Maintain and update employee files and records

  • Process personnel changes including hires, transfers, leaves, and terminations

  • Answer employee questions about payroll, benefits, and policies; coordinate with external payroll/benefits vendors as needed

  • Track and monitor CORIs, trainings, credentials, performance evaluations, and other compliance items

  • Support supervisors with employee relations documentation and performance management; escalate complex matters to the HR Manager

  • Assist with agency-wide HR communications, reporting, audits, and special projects

Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a human resources or related administrative role

  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred)

  • Knowledge of HR best practices and employment regulations

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Ability to travel occasionally to program sites; reliable transportation required
