Job Description:
Summary
The Illinois Central College (ICC) Educational Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, whose mission is to serve the College by assuring access to higher education for our community. The Foundation Database Analyst supports the overall health and well-being of the ICC Educational Foundation, as it manages the Foundation's donor database. The Foundation Database Analyst performs general and confidential duties including data and accounting processing, preparing and maintaining records, and managing deposits and expenditures for a $35+ million portfolio. The Analyst serves as a highly visible team member to identify, gather, produce, and present strategic prospect information on corporations, foundations, and individuals from a wide variety of sources as they relate to philanthropic capacity and inclination. Requires a friendly, pleasant personality, diplomacy and tact, the ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently, prioritize, and organize, and the capacity to complete tasks with limited oversight and independent judgment.
Compensation for the Database Analyst-Foundation is $52,374.40 - $60,236.80 annually.
Essential Functions

1. Responsible for utilization of the College's fundraising management software, including database management and reporting, security and integrity, and supporting staff on the use of the software and data.
2. Provide day-to-day maintenance of constituent, event and financial records for the ICC Educational Foundation through database maintenance, data entry, and general bookkeeping of departmental accounts and funds.
3. Reconcile financial data with the controller's office.
4. Assists the Department with portfolio management and prospective donor management.
5. Provide support for all special events in the department.
6. Designs and leads a prospect research management program to provide information facilitating the solicitation of corporations, foundations and individuals.
7. Oversees extraction of information from database to meet reporting and research needs of the Foundation team, including dashboard development and management.
8. Process donations and reconcile accounts using ICC accounting standards, while ensuring adherence to Foundation policies, procedures and internal controls. Provide relevant statements, queries and reports to stakeholders.
9. Ensures compliance with industry standards and guidelines, including filing appropriate paperwork with the Internal Revenue Service, state of Illinois and as needed for the annual audit.
10. Research and manage alumni records in coordination with Foundation staff to identify and track prospects for alumni relations marketing and solicitation. 11. Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
1. Associate degree required or three years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, fundraising or related field.
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
3. Ability to work effectively as a team leader, as well as independently; ability to train staff.
4. Self-starter with strong organization and prioritization skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
5. Ability to anticipate needs, see opportunities, and use good judgement in dealing with confidential information.
6. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or related field.
2. One or more years' experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT donor software or equivalent.
3. Experience in a non-profit foundation or organization, preferably in higher education.
4. Experience with general fundraising principles and practices. Support and understand development process: identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
