Construction Engineer
for a highly visible, long-term project based in San Francisco. With 23 successful years in business, this company provides civil engineering, environmental, and water resources engineering services along with construction management throughout California. This full-time Construction Engineer position will be an integral team member to support the success of the multi-year Harrison/Treat Box Sewer Project.

NOTE:
This is an onsite position in San Francisco. The client is not considering relocation options at this time.
What You Will Do
Coordinate between consultants, external agencies, contractors, property owners and other utility services for assigned projects
Coordinate, review and assess contract submittals
Review and process construction for project design submittals and ensure forms as per existing standards
Administer contractor’s work and ensure compliance with submitted contract documents
Inspect work sites, monitor project budget and schedule and check project plans and drawings to verify authenticity of office plans
Analyze and recommend changes to contracts and prepare necessary amendments in contract documents
Manage and submit all reviewed contract documents to contract administrators for further approval
Prepare correspondence and documents related to assigned projects
Aid project manager and supervise office engineering construction
Perform inspection and prepare documents for entire contract work projects
Ensure all contract works are in compliance with contract documents
Prepare project records with details such as field progress, field conditions, equipment use and corrective actions
Prepare monthly reports on progress of assigned project with assistance of schedules, cost spreadsheets and perform analysis on same
Ensure bid packets contain relevant engineering drawings, designs, and specifications for the bid document
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, mechanical or electrical) or related field
5 years minimum experience in providing office engineering, construction engineer, field engineering, and/or engineering design services for utility infrastructure construction projects
Understanding of construction scheduling utilizing Primavera; Unifier experience is a plus
Demonstrated experience providing office engineering services within the last 10 years for at least one single, completed, and verifiable utility infrastructure construction project valued at $10,000,000 or more
Demonstrated experience in understanding and interpreting plans and specifications and in construction contract administration of submittals and RFIs
At least three years of recent experience using CM software systems
Experience with water pipelines, utilities, site utilities, construction management, sewers, water conveyance and water resources
Ability to manage multiple projects using established controls and procedures and provide job site leadership in scheduling, safety, quality, and coordination with designers
Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials
Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Working knowledge of state and federal safety and environmental guidelines and regulations
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of RFIs and contract documentation
Able to multi-task and handle numerous concurrent requests and projects
Drive for executing and exceeding the client’s expectations
Compensation $162,240 base salary (prevailing wage) + Bonus Opportunity.
