Job Title: Data Management Specialist
Full-time, 40 Hours/week Monday - Friday, Days 8AM - 4:30PM Onsite Akron, OH Summary: The Data Management Specialist is responsible for assisting in the collection, entry, organization, and reporting of data used to support Akron Children's Health Collaborative operations. Responsibilities:
Assist in collecting, cleaning, and organizing data from various sources, including electronic medical records (EMRs), Medicaid claims, and care management systems. Perform data entry, quality checks, and validation to ensure accuracy and completeness. Support routine reporting and compliance processes for internal and external stakeholders (e.g., care teams, health plans). Maintain data files and documentation for performance tracking and audits. Help create basic visualizations and summary reports using Excel or other tools. Collaborate with analysts and program managers to prepare data for performance improvement efforts. Learn and follow organizational data governance, privacy, and security standards (e.g., HIPAA compliance). Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, basic formulas, charts). Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Exposure to healthcare data (claims, EMR, utilization) through coursework, internship, or previous role preferred. Familiarity with SQL, Tableau, or Power BI preferred. Education and Experience:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred. Licensure: None. Certification: None. Years of relevant experience: 1 year of experience required. Years of supervisory experience: None.
