SQL Database Administrator

The SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for providing reliable, cost-effective, & secure enterprise-wide support for business-critical production & non-production databases for client application. We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Database Administrator to join our IT team. This position will be full-time, on-site, and is along-term contract position. What You'll Do: Administer SQL Server 2016 or later, including installation, upgrades, and applying service packs Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as index rebuilding, statistics updates, and consistency checks Monitor error logs and event logs for database errors Manage SQL Server security, including user roles, authentication methods, and auditing Implement encryption for data at rest, transit, and backup Plan storage capacity, manage disk space, and optimize database objects Utilize SQL Server tools like Profiler, Index Tuning Advisor, and Extended Events Establish standards and schedules for database backups Develop and test recovery procedures to meet RPO and RTO Create and test Disaster Recovery plans Implement SQL Server High Availability methods such as Mirroring and Always On Build and maintain Windows Servers, configure server roles, and manage endpoint protection Utilize PowerShell for administrative tasks and maintain Windows Failover Clusters What You'll Need: Required: 6 years in SQL Database Administration with SQL Server 2016 or later 4 years in Windows Server Administration, including server configuration, maintenance, and security Relevant certifications in SQL Database and Windows Server Administration Ability to provide 24-hour support as required Familiarity with industry security standards such as PUB1075, FIPS, and handling PII Knowledge of cloud computing, including storage, backup, and restore mechanisms Experience in firewall administration and maintenance Understanding of Active Directory, including GPO, FQDN, DNS, and SPN Desired: Experience with FAST GenTax/DS-VS architecture and application maintenance Physical Demands: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc. Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor The pay range for this position is $55 - $62 per hour (USD). Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education.
