Under the supervision of the Assistant Controller - Cashiering & Student Accounts Office, the Business Analyst/Functional Architect provides information technology consultation and enterprise application support for all Student Administrative functional areas. The Business Analyst/Functional Architect will have shared responsibility for the oversight of all activities related to the maintenance, development, and modification of the MyUNLV PeopleSoft Student Administration module and will work closely with management, technical staff in ESS and OIT, and end users. The incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert for the development, modification, and maintenance of the MyUNLV Student Administration module of the CSS PeopleSoft product. The incumbent will perform complex, professional level duties in the analysis, evaluation, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation and maintenance of computer system applications specific to the functional needs of Enrollment and Student Services and Student Financial Services, including admissions, recruitment, financial aid, student accounts, records, registration, transcript and diploma processing, graduation evaluation, and quality service operations; provide support to end users on the use of applications; produce a variety of standard and ad hoc reports; provide strategic analysis and advice to management related to the CSS PeopleSoft system and its functional support of ESS and Student Financial Services' processes and functions; perform a variety of tasks relative to the Student Administration module, and develop effective working relationships across functional areas in ESS, Student Financial Services, OIT, and any other functional areas to ensure successful development and implementation of PeopleSoft Student Administration system. Performs all other relevant duties as assigned. The Business Analyst/Functional Architect has authority for making decisions relative to the MyUNLV environment as it relates to supporting institutional and NSHE needs. This includes assisting in planning and coordinating tasks, facilitating process/design gathering sessions, communicating/coordinating, duplicate record management, building and scheduling of communications (e.g. emails, communication center, portal "pop-ups'', security requirements, system modifications and working guidelines for process innovation. Under the general direction of the Director of Student Information and System Design, this individual will also assess, formulate and evaluate the impact of all system requirements, modification requests, external data needs, system interfaces (e.g. NSHE synching and common data elements), portal content, external organization maintenance and coordination. This individual will also coordinate with subject matter/module experts' guiding future policy development within the technical workspace. This individual will be fully accountable for independently meeting the goals and timelines of the modules assigned, being responsible for maintaining, supporting and advancing MyUNLV and supporting applications. Additionally, this individual may be required to create and lead training for a wide variety of individuals on an as needed basis. Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 3-5 years of related professional compatible experience; Related supervisory comparable experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date. 3-5 years knowledge of data administration principles and techniques. Skills

Demonstrated experience with relational databases Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in working in functional areas Demonstrated experience supporting and utilizing integrated student information systems, preferably within a university environment. Expertise in analyzing functional requirements of new projects to develop functional and technical specifications for programming and implementation. Demonstrated skill in analyzing proposed modifications for impacts on internal and external campus processes Excellent consultative, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required to assess user needs and for interaction with a variety of users including faculty, staff and students. Abilities

Ability to develop effective methods and processes for monitoring the completion of work assignments for assigned staff to ensure that work is accurate, completed within deadlines, and is in compliance with office policies and procedures. Ability to work collaboratively with appropriate administrators and staff in the development of annual performance plans and expectations. Ability to effectively manage conflict and deal with sensitive interpersonal situations. High level of knowledge of computer applications and operating systems to serve as a resource for users. Ability to assess training needs and to assist in developing and conducting formal training programs. Experience with commands and usage required for the operation of PC, UNIX and Macintosh based computer systems to interpret and correct problems with the operating systems, as well as navigating and manipulating file directories. Ability to take initiative based on broad goals and general communication to meet internal and external timelines Preferred Qualifications
