Business Analytics & Data Science Team Summer Associate
The Business Analytics & Data Science Team is a group of analytical experts who apply advanced data science, statistical modeling, and business intelligence to uncover insights that drive strategic marketing decisions. By translating complex data into clear, actionable intelligence, we empower the Marketing team to deliver personalized, data-informed experiences that deepen member relationships, optimize campaign performance, and fuel growth across channels. Our analyses focus on the exploration of pre-campaign opportunities and business outcomes, researching trends that will enable our marketing partners to strategize and make critical decisions. We lead research and development efforts to solve complex, high-value business problems where the solution isn't always clear. The ideal Summer Associate will be a passionate and curious individual with a combination of problem-solving and storytelling skills and one who would love the team and its approach to solving problems that make Marketing fun. Areas of opportunity may include developing new marketing models to measure the influence of our campaigns on business outcomes, writing and testing business rule indicators to power our marketing automation tools, or developing dashboards to empower employees to do their own data discovery/exploration, and discovering strategic opportunities. The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2026 and ending in August 2026. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2026 or later. Responsibilities Assess the marketing landscape to identify best practices, shifting trends, and areas of opportunity Analyze member data to identify opportunities to better understand and predict customer needs and behaviors Write and create business rules for use in machine learning models to further Member personalization Develop and prioritize recommendations for strategic initiatives Collaborate with a range of stakeholders to drive progress on cross-functional projects Develop and present analytic findings to stakeholders (including senior executives) Become acquainted with the functioning of the team Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree, with exposure to Marketing Analytics, Data Analytics, Business, Statistics, or other related fields. A passion for analytics and data-driven problem solving Experience with data extraction/wrangling Experience using analytic tools such as: Databricks, SQL, R, Python, PySpark, Power BI or Tableau Good communication and presentation skills Comfort working with large datasets and telling stories with data Ability to work independently and think outside of the box Strong strategic, critical, and analytical thinking skills Basic knowledge of marketing a plus Hours: Monday Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM Location: 820 Follin Lane, Vienna, VA 22180 | 5550 Heritage Oaks Dr Pensacola, FL 32526 About Us Navy Federal provides much more than a job.
