Job Summary
Join our team as a Part-Time CDL B Delivery Driver, where you will play a crucial role in delivering and picking up containers from customer locations. Your responsibilities will ensure safe and effective delivery while maintaining a strong rapport with our clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safely operate a commercial truck equipped with a patented lift mechanism for loading and unloading containers at customer sites, adhering to all safety protocols.
Conduct daily pre and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and lift, logging any concerns.
Accommodate add-on deliveries as needed to support business requirements.
Utilize a company-provided handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation.
Operate forklifts and/or overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
Thoroughly clean and inspect containers before delivery to guarantee a professional presentation.
Coordinate rental paperwork and payments with customers effectively.
Communicate any customer inquiries or concerns to the Driver Lead or Market Manager, documenting notes as needed.
Conduct minor repairs of containers and lifts in the field as well as at the storage center.
Assist with storage center functions as required.
Maintain truck cleanliness, ensuring the cab is free from debris inside and out.
Willingness to take on additional duties as assigned.
Management & Supervisory Responsibilities
Reports to Management, typically the Market Manager or Territory Manager.
This role does
not
entail direct management of other employees. Job Qualifications: Education & Experience Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. Valid CDL Class B License is required. Minimum of 3 months service with our organization as a driver, or 6 months for re-certification. Completion of the Level 2 training course with a passing score. Must possess a current/valid driver license. No moving violations in the past three years (insurance requirement). Must be at least 21 years of age. A valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or ability to obtain a minimum of a one-year certification. Experience with electronic equipment and software is advantageous. Basic math skills are necessary for daily responsibilities. Equivalent combinations of education, training, or experience will also be considered. Physical Requirements Ability to remain in a stationary position for driving and operating machinery. Ability to ascend/descend the truck cab and forklift using three points of contact regularly. Ability to frequently move and position oneself to operate equipment and deliver containers. Occasionally capable of moving boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. Vision capabilities must include close vision, peripheral vision, and adjusting focus. Frequent use of hands for writing, operating devices, and managing documents. Regularly apply pressure of up to 40 pounds through various motions. Ability to read and write clearly and accurately. Strong communication skills to interact with managers, coworkers, and customers. Working Conditions Shift start times may vary; additional hours may include weekends and overtime as needed. Travel requirements are within the local territory. Storage centers may be non-climate controlled with some specific areas being climate managed. Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor conditions, including inclement weather. Punctual attendance is mandatory. Subject to pre-employment background checks and drug screenings as per company policy and DOT regulations.
