Position Overview
Join our team as a Part-Time CDL B Driver and play a key role in delivering and picking up containers. We're looking for a dedicated driver who can provide efficient, safe service while building strong relationships with our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Safely drive and operate a commercial truck equipped with a patented lift mechanism for loading and unloading containers.
Conduct daily pre and post trip inspections of the vehicle and lift, documenting findings.
Be adaptable and accept additional delivery requests as business needs arise.
Utilize company handheld devices for navigational support and delivery confirmations.
Operate a forklift and/or overhead crane as necessary during deliveries.
Ensure containers are cleaned and inspected before delivery to maintain a professional presentation.
Coordinate rental agreements and payments with customers effectively.
Communicate proactively with management regarding any customer inquiries or issues, and maintain accurate driver notes.
Perform minor repairs on containers and lifts as needed, both in the field and at the storage center.
Assist with storage center operations when required.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the truck cab.
Fulfill additional duties as assigned to support team objectives.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Valid CDL Class B License required.
Minimum of 3 months of driving experience with our organization (or 6 months for re-certification).
Successful completion of the Level 2 course and assessment.
Must maintain a valid drivers license and abide by the companys Driver Qualification Standards, with no moving violations in the past 3 years.
At least 21 years of age due to insurance requirements.
Possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or the ability to obtain a minimum of a 1-year certification as per DOT regulations.
Experience with electronic equipment and software is preferred.
Basic math skills to perform necessary calculations.
Other combinations of education, training, or experience may be considered equivalent.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain stationary while driving or operating equipment.
Ability to frequently ascend/descend truck and forklift using three points of contact for safety.
Capable of frequently moving and positioning oneself to deliver containers.
Occasional lifting of boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
Visual acuity for safe driving and navigating tight spaces.
Frequent use of hands for various tasks including operating vehicles and paperwork.
Able to apply up to 40 pounds of pressure through different motions.
Regular reading and writing required for communication and documentation.
Frequent verbal communication with management, co-workers, and customers.
Working Conditions
Shift start times may vary; weekend and overtime hours may be necessary.
Travel within the designated territory for deliveries.
Work environments may not be climate-controlled, except for specific areas.
Exposure to mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions including noise and varying temperatures.
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
Subject to pre-employment background checks and drug screenings, along with random screenings in compliance with company and DOT policies.
