About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Deputy General Counsel for M&A and Joint Ventures to join their values-led organization. The successful candidate will be a key leader in the strategic and operational aspects of the company's transactional legal function, with a focus on M&A, joint ventures, real estate, and strategic partnership transactions. This role requires a seasoned professional with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, active bar membership, and a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in corporate law, particularly in multi-national M&A, JV, and capital markets transactions. The individual will be responsible for leading a high-performing team, structuring, negotiating, and managing complex domestic and international deals, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities for the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel include providing legal guidance on strategic transactions, acting as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, and leading cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate governance, compliance, and risk management, as well as exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. They should be a proven leader with the ability to mentor and develop a diverse team, and possess excellent communication skills to present complex legal and business issues to senior management and the Board. A proactive, data-driven, and solutions-oriented approach to legal services is essential, as is the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, and evolving business environment.
