About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Deputy General Counsel for M&A and Joint Ventures to join their values-led organization. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the strategic and operational leadership of the company's transactional legal function, with a focus on M&A, joint ventures, real estate, and strategic partnership transactions. This executive will be responsible for leading a high-performing team, structuring, negotiating, and managing complex domestic and international deals, and ensuring compliance in a dynamic, highly regulated environment. Key responsibilities include leadership and team management, strategic and transactional expertise, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and regulatory and compliance management.
Applicants must have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, a minimum of 10-15 years' of experience in corporate law with a focus on multi-national M&A, JV, and capital markets transactions, and a strong background in corporate governance, compliance, and risk management practices. The role requires exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, influencing, and problem-solving skills, as well as a proven track record of sound business judgment and execution. The ideal candidate will have a proactive, data-driven, and solutions-oriented approach to legal services, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth business environment. Preferred qualifications include experience in-house at a Fortune 500 or other publicly traded company and proficiency in more than one language.
