Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Equipment Integration Developer is responsible for writing, testing, and deploying software solutions to integrate manufacturing equipment with enterprise systems such as MES and ERP platforms. This role supports Industry 4.0 initiatives by ensuring seamless equipment connectivity, optimizing data flow, and enhancing production efficiency through scalable technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Development & Implementation:

• Develop software code based on Solution Architect designs to integrate manufacturing equipment with MES and ERP systems.

• Write, test, and deploy applications using Java to support protocols such as OPC UA, SECS/GEM, TCP/IP, and MQTT.

• Implement messaging frameworks like ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, and Kafka for asynchronous data exchange.

• Collaborate with Solution Architects to refine designs and align with business objectives.

Equipment Integration & Connectivity:

• Configure and optimize communication between equipment and software platforms.

• Support real-time equipment monitoring, data acquisition, and production tracking.

• Work with MES and SCADA platforms to ensure seamless system communication.

Testing, Troubleshooting & Support:

• Conduct testing to validate functionality, reliability, and performance.

• Debug and optimize software to resolve integration and connectivity issues.

• Provide hands-on support during deployment and production start-up.

• Identify root causes of failures and implement corrective actions.

Documentation & Collaboration:

• Create and maintain technical documentation, including code comments and deployment guides.

• Collaborate with IT, Solution Architects, and manufacturing teams to gather requirements.

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to development strategies.

Continuous Learning & Improvement:

• Stay updated on emerging technologies and integration tools.

• Contribute to proof-of-concept (POC) projects.

• Identify opportunities to improve software quality and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree with relevant experience (minimum).

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).

• 5+ years of experience in software development, focusing on Java or C#.

• Proven experience integrating manufacturing equipment with MES and ERP systems.

• Familiarity with messaging technologies (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, MQTT).

• Understanding of Industry 4.0 technologies (IoT, SCADA).

• Advanced programming in Java (or C#/Python).

• Practical knowledge of OPC UA, SECS/GEM, TCP/IP, MQTT.

• Experience with SCADA (e.g., znt PAC, Ignition) and MES (e.g., Siemens OpCenter/Camstar).

• Proficient with Git and Agile tools (e.g., Jira, GitLab).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data analytics and reporting tools in manufacturing.

• Familiarity with QMS, WMS, PLM, or other enterprise platforms.

• Exposure to cloud-based or edge computing technologies.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

• Effective communication and documentation abilities.

• Collaborative and proactive team player.

• Self-motivated and adaptable to new technologies.

Education:

Associate's Degree, Bachelors Degree
