Job Summary

The City of Gahanna is looking for an experienced, outgoing, and energetic Human Resources Administrator who will be the primary HR contact for the Department of Parks & Recreation. The Human Resources Administrator plays a key role in supporting all City departments and employees throughout the full employment life cycle-from recruitment and onboarding to benefits, leave management, training, engagement, and offboarding. This position serves as a trusted resource for staff and leadership, providing guidance on HR policies, labor contracts, and compliance while managing HRIS systems, compensation, and employee programs. The HR Administrator also assists with investigations, labor relations, and special projects, ensuring the City of Gahanna fosters a positive, supportive, and compliant workplace.

Starting Salary Range:

The starting salary is between the minimum and midpoint of the range ($63,169.60 - $77,376.00). Candidates will start at the minimum of the range unless their skills, experience, education, or other factors exceed the qualifications for the position.

Minimum Qualifications Any combination of education, training and experience as listed below which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. A typical way to qualify is a Bachelor's Degree with coursework in Human Resources and two (2) years of experience in Human Resources OR a Master's degree with coursework in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or Employment Law.

Licensure or Certification Requirements Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Certified Labor Relations Professional (CLRP) desirable. Current and valid Ohio driver's license with an acceptable driver's abstract to meet criteria for insurability established by the City of Gahanna.
