The Construction Manager (CM) will join the Site Development organization at American Tower, supporting the delivery of new assets, customer service programs, capital improvements, and redevelopment projects across the company's U.S. portfolio. This role oversees and coordinates field-based construction activities, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, budgets, and schedules while serving as a key partner to cross-functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage budgets, schedules, vendors, site designs, and progress tracking for assigned projects.
- Develop accurate project estimates for new development and capital improvements.
- Execute operational procedures to maintain safety and regulatory compliance across sites.
- Ensure construction meets American Tower's Master Construction Specifications and quality standards.
- Proactively identify potential project risks and implement preventative plans.
- Troubleshoot, mediate, and resolve subcontractor or client-related site issues.
- Coordinate utility installations, material orders, and site closeout activities.
- Provide consistent project status updates and maintain stakeholder communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or Planning
OR equivalent work experience in the wireless site development industry. - Minimum 5 years' experience in wireless site construction or related fields such as civil or building construction.
- Knowledge of wireless tower industry including siting, construction, zoning, tenant/ground leases, and utility easements.
- Prior experience managing wireless network deployment projects or construction management responsibilities.
- Financial analysis and construction budgeting skills
- Prior exposure to American Tower construction standards or similar telecom environments
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities in fast-paced settings
- Effective written and oral communication skills for cross-functional engagement
- Sound decision-making with risk prevention mindset
- Ability to travel up to 80% as required
- Experience with subcontractor negotiations and client mediation
- Regulatory compliance knowledge in wireless infrastructure projects
