Title: Specialist I, Pre-K Budget Assists the Executive Director of Early Learning and Pre-K Programs in maintaining budget administration requirements, to include analyzing and completing financial estimates and developing budgeting and accounting reports in compliance with all DeKalb County School District (DCSD) and Bright From the Start (BFTS) rules regarding purchases including local and state funds.

Essential Functions: • Receives and processes orders as applicable, including obtaining required authorizations, entering orders into TouchPointe/MUNIS, and preparing and submitting invoices for payment. • Analyzes monthly departmental budget and accounting reports to ensure expenditure control for BFTS grants and general funds. • Maintains electronic budget data for the office in compliance with District procedures and supervisor directives. • Orders and manages supplies and equipment, maintains inventory records, prepares purchase orders, and ensures timely payment of purchases in accordance with District and federal guidelines. • Collaborates with DCSD staff and vendors on purchasing activities; serves as the budget liaison for the Department of Early Learning and Pre-K Programs. • Reviews operating budgets to identify and analyze trends, recommending additional actions as necessary. • Compiles and analyzes accounting records and related data to support the determination of financial resource requirements. • Provides responsive customer service to internal and external stakeholders regarding purchasing and budget matters. • Ensures staff funded through the BFTS grant are aligned with data submitted to HR and accurately entered into the GA Pre-K Platform. • Updates staff records in the GAPDS platform to maintain compliance and accuracy for Pre-K funding allocations via the BFTS grant. • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Associates Degree or equivalent completed college coursework in related area or field from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university is required. • A minimum of three (3) years of related industry experience is required.
